ORIENTATION PROGRAMS FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS IN FOREIGN UNIVERSITIES: REVIEW OF THE IMPLEMENTATION PRACTICE

The article reviews the practices of implementation of orientation programs for foreign students in the Universities of Australia, Great Britain, Canada and the United States of America. As a research method, the method of case study and its elements: interviews with employees of international students offices and foreign students, as well as analysis of the programs of orientation programs for foreign students in foreign universities mentioned above. Analysis of the practice of implementation of orientation programs for foreign students in universities of Australia, Great Britain, Canada and the United States showed that, despite the identity of the goals and objectives of orientation programs for foreign students in various foreign universities, their content, structure, form and terms of implementation may vary depending on the needs of foreign students, infrastructure and the financial ability of the University. It is assumed that the data obtained in the course of the study could form the basis for the development and implementation of orientation programs for foreign students in Russian Universities.
