The article analyzes the psychological and educational literature on motivation, the use of remote e-learning, distance learning technologies in the educational process of universities. The basic principles and methods of motivation of teachers to distance education are discussed in the blog community E-Learning PRO. Association of e-Learning professionals. Based on the materials of The Chuvash I. Yakovlev State Pedagogical University analyzed conditions designed to encourage teaching staff to use activities in distance learning technologies for the professional tasks: training for teaching staff and staff of the university free of charge for full-time - remote special additional professional programs «Fundamentals of distance courses in environment Moodle» and «Organization distance learning in an educational institution», the annual competitions for distance learning courses and clubs with cash prize money, develop individual rating of the teacher, with the inclusion as a component of the application of distance learning technologies in their professional activities.
