The effective development of educational institution in the conditions of the market assumes the accounting of tendencies in education and in management of educational systems. The point of view on the content of administrative activity of the head of educational institution changes. The leading reference points of modern educational institutions are independence, competitiveness and partnership. The primary activities of the head of educational institution in the conditions of the market are activities for development and realization of strategy of development of the educational organization in the conditions of the market of educational services; realization of marketing tasks on interaction with key partners of the educational organization; creation of conditions for effective marketing activity of pedagogical collective. Dedicated activities of the head of the educational institution in modern conditions allow us to consider this phenomenon as a marketing competence of the head of the educational institution, and actualize the process of formation and development of modern marketing competencies head of the educational institution.
