GAME TECHNOLOGIES USAGE UPON KNOWLEDGE ASSESSMENT OF INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS IN THE MODULES OF «HIGHER MATHEMATICS»

This paper presents methods of teaching the course «Higher Mathematics» using game technologies elements that allow instructors to develop students’ concentration, observation, and quick mental understanding, as well as to shape basic cognitive abilities such as analysis, composition, abstraction, generalization, and comparison. Instructor’s objective is to organize academic activities in such a way that each student’ intention to attain knowledge runs with rising of students cognitive abilities. Another learning activity requirement is to encourage student’s motivation for subject matter acquisition as well as for assessment. Game technologies application while assessment contribute apparently to shaping content, pragmatic, and discursive quality of communicative competence as well as skills in spontaneous speech that is especially actual for international students who are taught in non-native language. The suggested method was successfully tried out in the process of knowledge assessment in the course of «Higher Mathematics» for 1st year international students.
