PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCE OF FUTURE ECONOMISTS: ITS ESSENCE AND CONTENT

In this article the nature and content of the term «professional competence of the future economist» as one of the most important goals of the quality management of economics education are explored, We also present an author definition of this phenomenon. We have examined the definitions of the «competence» and «competency», as well as their role in the formation of the phenomenon of professional competence of the future economist. On the basis of retrospective and structural analysis we present the main characteristics of the professional competence of the future economist, which are defined in the context of the systematization and systemic subordination of the concepts named before. The article is concluded with the scientific generalization of the specificity of professional competence of the future economist as an integrated personality characteristics, which includes a set of economic knowledge, integrated competences of lower order, as well as motivational determination of the individual.
