The article deals with phenomena of global education as paradigm XXI century. Ideas, aims, peculiarities and models of global education are presented. Main technologies of global lesson, key competencies of EU, one of which is communication in Foreign Language, are indicated. Modernization of English lesson at school in the context of global education is possible through development of lesson – main form of an educational process with the help of borrowing effective practices of teaching from Europe. The article reveals examples of teaching and learning, which are effective in EU-countries. In the article analysis and translation of main normative documents of General Directorate of Education and Training of European Commission from English into Russian are presented.
