The article reflects the period of reformation of musical – pedagogical education starting with the last “soviet” reforms in education (1984) and finishing with the reforms of the post-soviet period, exercised on the territory of one of the subjects of the Russian Federation – the Republic of Tatarstan. The article shows the dynamics of goals and content of musical-pedagogical education during the indicated period. Modern problems of the musical-pedagogical educational system under reformation in the region were brought to light during the process of studying standards, scientific publications and factual material. These problems need to be addressed. Proposed ways of the musical-pedagogical education improvement can be used in the process of its further reforming.
