THE ROLE OF COURSEBOOK IN FOREIGN LANGUAGE TEACHING OF TECHNICAL STUDENTS OF MASTER DEGREE PROGRAM

The key issues of foreign language teaching of students of Master Degree program in Higher Technical School are discussed. Foreign language is considered as to be the special means to develop basic knowledge of major study. Coursebook is considered to be the key element in foreign language teaching. It helps to enhance students educational, scientific and future professional activities. Structure and content of foreign language coursebooks for technical students are analyzed. The key principles of teaching material development are highlighted. Methodic concepts of using a coursebook for foreign language teaching are discussed. The coursebook for electric engineering students is developed. Development of communicative skills, i.e. development of professional and foreign language competence is highlighted as the primary goal of foreign language teaching in the university. It is emphasized that integration of goals, content, education tools and methods enhance foreign language teaching and foreign language competence development.
