In article is considered one of the main directions of continuous additional professional education - retraining. It is shown that the main purpose of professional training is to provide the specialists with higher education opportunities to expand their sphere of professional activity The basic motivation of adults to attend courses of professional retraining. Considered physiological and psychological problems of students of courses of professional retraining, preventing the formation of their motivation to engage in educational activities. The main principles of organization of educational process at the courses of professional training, which would contribute to a sustainable educational motivation of students of courses of professional retraining. In particular, the article shows, that at the organization of educational process it is necessary to take into account the needs of each student. Information, which brings to the listener a teacher, should be relevant.
