The following paper considers the peculiarities of MOODLE-based control of Academic writing teaching. The control over academic writing teaching should involve both the content and structural sides of the academic text which turns to be a significant challenge for students of non-linguistic faculties and is often underestimated as an object of control. The focus is given to the necessity of a detailed study of control types and forms which can be implemented by Moodle electronic platform and used in the process of academic writing teaching delivered in the foreign language to the senior students of non-linguistic majors. Moreover, the author ponders on the main challenges faced by the students in the course of Academic writing.
