In conditions of modernization of education, a problem of forming students’ research activity in training mathematics becomes actual. Its solving demands introduction an additional component «forming of research activity»into the methodical system. The introduction of the additional component in methodics puts forward a problem of searching how it influences the content of the methodical system. Subsequently the task of defining the place of academic research in mathematics in the system of methods of achieving main educational results (formation of mathematical definitions, generalization and systematization of the material studied, training methods in mathematics and so no) being a part of the main problem becomes acute. In the article there are some results of the research of the problem about the role and the place of students’ research activity in the process of mastering mathematical methods.
