STUDY OF STUDENTS’ WILLINGNESS TO PARTICIPATE IN PROJECT-BASED LEARNING

Use of design technologies in the study process is particularly relevant in the modern education system. These techniques allow students to reveal creativity, information retrieval and planning skills. In other words, this method of training involves both personal students’ creative work, and students work in groups on different projects, such as the introduction of new technology or product. Students from different courses, specialties, faculties and even from different universities of the city can participate in the same project. Workable project-based learning is mainly dependent on the willingness of students to engage in the process of work, not to be passive, but active participants in learning. Therefore, we were interested to see the readiness of modern students to work in teams on various creative projects, whether they are willing to devote time finding interesting problems, their development and implementation. To this end, the reseach was organized and carried out. Objective of this study can be considered as the definition of the susceptibility of modern students to project-based learning. Questionnaires of students from different courses enrolled in Kazan National Research Technological University were treated. Results of the study led to the following conclusions. First, students initially interested in joint projects and are ready to take part in. Second, students are interested in working together, select the topic of the project, plan and develop something new, regardless of the course and progress. Third , most students prefer to engage in creative , rather than organizational and design works. The project teams’ formation will allow them to distribute their duties according to the preferences .
