The paper traces the role of social science education in forming of civil and patriotic education of the young generation. The policy of the state (from 1920th) and its role are shown in forming of consciousness and world view of young people. Also showed some pedagogical aspects, terms and ways of realization of education of senses of love to Motherland. The author considered processes of ideologization of school social science education, imposing by the state by the pupil only the correct outlook, restriction in a choice of views and belief. The experience of mental development of man is in pre-revolution Russia, some elements of educate actions in a soviet period testify to importance of civil activity of young people and rightness of the chosen vector of today’s course of social science. The documents which is accepted the last years in area of education testifies to the return of the state in education as guarantor of his quality on all stages. All of it talks at appearance in the country of national idea, stowage of the certain systems of base values on which it is necessary to educate a rising generation. In basis of all substantial line of article the author focuses attention on the educational potential of a course of social science in formation of the civil personality and the idea expresses social science education as one of important conductors of a course of policyo f the country.
