TERMINOLOGICAL PROBLEMS IN THE DEFINITION OF THE ESSENCE OF MORAL EDUCATION IN MODERN PEDAGOGICS

This theoretical research directed on the detection of terminological difficulties in understanding of moral education opens the cycle of the articles devoted to the problems of moral education in modern pedagogics. It is shown that for the permission of terminological problems it is necessary to use interdisciplinary approach as the concepts “ethics” and “morality” have the interdisciplinary status. The analysis is carried out and the basic distinctions in the content of these concepts which mainly consist in the distinction of the positions “I must” and “I Choose” are revealed. The expediency of the use in pedagogical science and practice of the term “moral and ethics education” is proved; its main and highest objectives are defined. Moral and ethics education is defined as the purposeful process of formation at pupils of the system of moral standards and assistance to transition of these norms from external reality in own living position.
