The article shows the relevance of the formation of information and communication competencies for humanities undergraduate students. It has been substantiated the effectiveness of e-learning based on a universal software platform Moodle to form ICT-competencies. We defined levels of formation and evaluation criteria of ICT-competencies as the threshold level, elevated and advanced ones. The basic ICT-competencies, provided by federal state educational standards for humanities undergraduate students are described. A method of forming the ICT-competencies for undergraduate humanities is disclosed. On the basis of comparative pedagogical experiment the efficacy of the authors’ method of forming ICT-competencies for humanities undergraduate students is demonstrated.
