A study of the development of a children’s book of the Udmurt Republic in 1960–1980-s. In the study utilizes a repertoire of children’s books Udmurtia 1847–2013, prepared by the author based on various sources. The chronological arrangement of bibliographic records can reveal the periodization of the development of children’s books. As part of the article has conducted a content analysis of the phase, which revealed the dynamics of the development of children’s and educational books and her involvement in the socio-cultural processes of the state and in the Russian and republican publishing. Expands the number of books, and their total average circulation and the dynamics of their output during the phase. Identifies the main factors that influenced the formation of the genre-typological and thematic structure of the repertoire (government regulations, social needs). Detail the typological structure of children’s literature: literary and artistic, political, educational, “business” (practical), popular science, educational - and its percentage. Section of fiction is also considered in the national historical aspect: Russian pre-revolutionary and Soviet, Udmurt, foreign children’s literature. In general, the features of the development of the repertoire of children’s books Udmurtia are determined by the nature of the state ideology, changes in the ethnic composition of the republic, attention to the development of children’s literature Udmurt by society.
