ACTUAL AREAS OF UNIVERSITY FACULTY POSTDIPLOMA PROFESSIONAL TRAINING

The article is devoted to the problem of topical areas of the faculty professional development formation. The results of research, carried out on the material of Russian universities, are presented. The research included a survey of the university faculty, the analysis of the situation in the system of continuous professional education, studying of the legal bas. The main areas of professional development sorted out: organization of the educational process; scientific activity; innovative activity; project activities; information and communication technologies, the subject area. The lowest interest of the university faculty to educational and career guidance activities, which get a new quality in the modern higher education system. The conclusion is made about the need to update the content and forms of university faculty continuous education, to produce new courses and training modules in the context of the selected areas.
