INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATIONS TECHNOLOGIES IN TEACHING THE DISCIPLINE “IT IN SAFETY MANAGEMENT”

The article describes a case of introduction of Moodle e-learning system in education of timber and chemical industry specialists. A new approach to the organization of the educational process for the subject «Information technology in security and emergency management» is discussed. This approach is based on the introduction of automated e-learning technologies in the management of full-time students’ independent work. New methodological techniques are proposed, that are based on the method of lecture material visualization by means of computer presentations with multimedia effects. Knowledge and competence obtained during university courses are vital in graduates’ participation in informational and technological restructurisation of timber and chemical industry, in their ability to develop and maintain modern automation and information technology complexes.
