Reading and understanding of folktales embodying national outlook is the basis for the formation of basical representations constituting baby’s interpritation of the world. Foremost among them, according to the authors, are not only moral, aesthetic, and economic representation but it’s a necessary factor in the formation of economic culture of older preschoolers. Analyzing folk tales («The Gingerbread Man», «Chanterelle with skalochkoy», «Greedy old woman»), the authors prove that the tale promotes the formation of primary economic ideas of older preschoolers is didactic means of formation of economic thinking. Fairy tale forms the initial idea of the most important relationships of peace and human rights. In the art world of fairy tales and economic relations are not less important than the moral aspects, social aspects, etc. Qualified support of this process by educators and parents helps to ensure that the child develops the initial system of economic knowledge, allowing him to be a small partner in the family economy, and in the future - to become a conscious participant in economic life.
