Article is devoted to the analysis of activity of public authorities in the field of inclusion of professional knowledge in practice of activity of comprehensive schools of Russia by XIX – the beginning of the XX centuries. Autocratic character state the power didn’t provide wide representation of public circles in preparation of reforms of comprehensive school. However the government in the conditions of developing capitalism was compelled to consider interests of new social groups (hired workers, the bourgeoisie) in satisfaction of their requirements for dissemination of knowledge, including professional. Public authorities of Russia were interested in development of professional education in the country and undertook active searches of ways of distribution of professional knowledge through comprehensive school. Special and additional classes and courses at initial schools and gymnasiums, real gymnasiums, real schools, - all this grew out of law-making activity of the government in this direction.
