The article deals with the problem of ethnopedagogical training of future teachers-psychologists for their professional self-development. It analyses the purposes and problems of ethnopedagogical training for professional self-development. It should be noted that scientific and practical tasks of modern school of higher education require the revival and recovery of traditional culture of education and ethnic traditions. This seems to us to be impossible without special ethnopedagogical training of a teacher and creative application of national pedagogics in professional activity. The knowledge of ethnopedagogical features is necessary for a future teacher-psychologist. In this way he is able to organize adequately and successfully his own educational and professional activity. The control monitoring on a degree of knowledge and skill in the field of professional self-development and etnopedagogics shows its low level.
