The article considers the characteristics and constraints of implementing e-learning in the system of continuous pedagogical education on the example of the Chekhov Taganrog Institute (branch) RSUE. The methodology of this study is based on a systemic approach, which considers the elements of the system of continuous pedagogical education, communication and functional activity in the context of model-building effective organization of electronic information-educational environment. E-learning has a wide spectrum of opportunities for improving economic, educational and socio-psychological efficiency. The introduction of e-learning in pedagogical education cannot copy existing models and templates which were developed in economic universities. Pedagogical and socio-psychological efficiency should be based on the pedagogical principles of feasibility and optimality of the application of e-learning technologies in the system of continuous pedagogical education.
