NON-VERBAL COMMUNICATION IN THE CLASSROOM TRAINING ON INTERCULTURAL COMMUNICATION THROUGH ROLE-PLAY ACTIVITIES

The subject of this article is non-verbal communication in the classroom training on intercultural communication in the form of the game. The author describes the concept of intercultural communication, sets out the basic theoretical intercultural aspect of teaching of students of foreign languages department. It is based on the idea that only with the right balance of verbal/non-verbal elements a complete and exact statement is formed. In the work the author pays special attention to the non-verbal communication as a special type of speakers relationship. Then, the basic forms and methods of non-verbal communication are analysed and specified. These are kinesika, takesika, sensorics, proxemics, hronemika. On the bases of the conducted research the author offers to teach intercultural communication through role-play activities, noting the advantages of this method. This is supplemented with examples of non-verbal communication games.
