AESTHETIC IMAGE OF MAN FORMATION DIAGNOSTICS OF THE STUDENTS’ YOUTH

The results of diagnostic work to define the reference level of the aesthetic image of man formation among high school students are covered in the article. The author proposes the definition of “aesthetic image of man”, points out its components: cognitive, value, emotional, activity, as well as the criteria and indicators. Based on these characteristics a program and methods of diagnostics (questionnaires, interviews programs, tests and creative assignments, peer reviews, etc.) were developed. The results of the research are presented in some details; the examples of students’ opinions are given. The author comes to the conclusion that the development of knowledge about aesthetic image of man and the values regarding human beauty, emotional culture, aspiration for self-development and self-construction are located primarily at middle (53, 6%) and low levels (28, 8%). These data confirm our hypothesis about the need for further special work, aimed at aesthetic image of man formation among students’ youth by the system of arts.
