We have done the analysis of the types of leading activity, picked out by D.B. Elconin, A.N. Leontiev, L.S. Vygotskiy, V.V. Davidov, L.I. Bozhovich and the methodologists of the activity approach in the article. The author picked out the components of activity: emotion - psychological, corresponding to directly-emotional intercourse, regulative, conforming to objectly-manipulative activity; social, corresponding to playing activity of a child under school age; analytical, conforming to educational activity; creative, conforming to leading activity of a teenager; self-perfection, corresponding to professional activity. Integral forming of these activity’s components promotes developing general and professional competences of students of secondary professional education. There is an analysis of participant’s competent results in olympiad by professional skills of regional level from the position of forming general competences, that permitted to expose problems in forming of general competences in students’ secondary professional education of different professions and specialities.
