The article is devoted to the actual problem creating a culture of healthy lifestyles among students. In an ever-changing social environment problem of maintaining health is becoming one of the most pressing issues of our time. To date, one of the main approaches to the definition of health is a functional approach, studying a person´s ability to carry out the inherent natural biological and social functions. Considered criteria for the formation of positive motivation for a healthy lifestyle among young people. The problem of a healthy lifestyle is closely related to the physiological adaptation of students. Physiological adaptation of the human body occurs involuntarily and unconsciously. However, from this process depends largely on the success of social adaptation and the adaptation of students to a new educational environment. The features of adaptation of foreign students to study in Russia on an example of Tomsk Polytechnic University.
