Focuses on the relevance and timeliness of the content theoretically grounded content of extracurricular activity of younger schoolboys in the framework of the implementation of the Federal state educational standard of the primary General education. It is proved the importance of the organization of orientation of the extra-curricular activities on the formation of divergent thinking of younger schoolchildren. Describes the logic of the author’s argument relating to the phenomenon of divergent thinking personality. Given the comprehension of this complex concepts into acting nature of the human psyche. From the point of view of modern scientific researches in the field of psychology and pedagogy are being established presentation on the specifics of manifestation, mechanisms of formation of divergent thinking in the Junior school age. Special attention is paid to the conditions of organization of teaching the younger students in a secondary educational institution, contributes to the successful formation of the students of divergent thinking. When the definition of the essence of extracurricular activities concludes the ambiguity of the views of modern scientists on the interpretation of this concept. The author justifies the essence of the conceptual approach to the functions of the extra-curricular activities aimed at the formation of divergent thinking of younger schoolchildren. The conclusion is based on theoretical research and the practical experience of the author about the fact that extra-curricular activity activity on the formation of divergent thinking, carried out in the circles of General intellectual orientation, has advantages as compared with the training. There are arguments in favour of this provision. Identifies key positions, employees of the proof of the direction of extra-curricular activities in a secondary educational institution on the formation of divergent thinking of younger school children.
